Designer kitchen for the multipurpose room
JACOB JENSEN™ Kitchen 1 has worked wonders for the home of the Madsen family. A formerly totally impractical area has been transformed into a multipurpose room where the entire family can relax and entertain themselves in carefully designed surroundings.
In common with so many others, the Madsen family, from Søndersø, has a busy lifestyle, with adults and children alike engaged in a whole range of activities outside the home. When they are finally at home at the same time, they want to be together. The problem was that the kitchen and dining room were totally impractical.
"The way they were laid out initially meant that they just could not be used. The dining area simply became a passage," explains Lene Madsen. The two rooms were separated by a half wall and a Spanish style arch which was the height of fashion when the house was built in 1989. But the style and lack of functionality became a source of irritation in the new millennium, leading to lack of use.
Lene and Hans-Henrik began their search for a new kitchen, bearing plans for how they imagined the area could be made more open and light. "We were shown a huge range of wonderful kitchen elements, but we wanted something different," says Hans Henrik Madsen.
